Who we are
DiskHead is an independent editorial website dedicated to helping UK consumers choose the right television and home cinema accessories for their home. We test screens ourselves, visit trade shows, and follow manufacturer announcements obsessively so you don't have to.
We cover TVs and home cinema products available at major UK retailers — with a particular focus on Argos, which offers one of the widest ranges of sets at competitive prices, with the added convenience of same-day collection and next-day delivery.
Our editorial standards
Every review on DiskHead is based on hands-on testing. We evaluate each TV across the following criteria:
- Picture quality — contrast, colour accuracy, HDR performance, upscaling
- Smart TV platform — speed, app availability, UK streaming services
- Gaming performance — input lag, HDMI 2.1, refresh rate, VRR support
- Build quality — materials, design, remote control quality
- Value for money — performance relative to price
Scores are assigned independently. Commercial arrangements with retailers (including affiliate partnerships) do not influence scores.
